Final ,model using foam board, doweling, silk, string and netting.
I created a set design based around the ethereal story of 'The Distance of the Moon', a story based around myth, magic and unrequited love. I worked with the idea of installation art to create a versatile structure that did not have to be removed from the stage, only built upon through its material choices; including silk and a climbable-net frame, which could each create varied, exciting visuals for its audience. I worked heavily with light and shadow and unique structural design to create an atmosphere on stage, heavily influenced by artists such as iconic female designer Es Devlin.
I created rough sketch models earlier on in the project in order to realise my final design, using string and sticks, and a plastic bag.
